Antara Koh (I) Pte Ltd was contracted by Leighton Contractors (India) Pvt. Ltd. as the specialist drilling contractor for installation of anchor piles. The anchor piles were installed for 3 numbers of Single Point Mooring System and 1 number of Riser Platform. Our work scope is briefly described below:
1. New Riser Platform (D) – Installation of temporary drilling casing of Ø2168mm x T19mm x L55m in water depths of 37m ~ 40m. Pre-drilling and grouting in Basalt rock 4 nos. of Ø2032mm Platform Piles.
2. SPM 3 – Installation of temporary drilling casing of Ø1258mm x T19mm x L55m and Ø2168mm x T19mm x L55mm in water depths of 37m ~ 44m. Pre-drilling and grouting into Basalt rock 4 nos. of Ø1219 x T19mm PLEM Piles, 6 nos. of Ø2032mm x T19mm Anchor Piles and 2 nos. of Ø2032mm x 19mm earthquake piles.
3. SPM 4 & 5 – Installation of temporary drilling casing of Ø1258mm x T19mm x L55m and Ø2168mm x T19mm x L55m in water depths of 37m ~ 44m. Pre-drilling and grouting into rock 8 nos. of Ø1219 x T19mm PLEM Piles and 18 nos. of Ø2032mm x T19mm Anchor Piles.
The pre-drilling works were carried out with WIRTH B18 Reverse Circulation Drill and assisted by crane and jack-up barges. The piles are socket 11m ~ 13m into the Basalt rock and annulus area grouted with non-shrink grout. During execution of the works, the site was subjected to sea swells of 1m ~ 3m in height and wind speed up to 20 ~ 30 knots. The project was completed on time and within budget.
